She is Professor at Tata Institute of Social Sciences.
She has long years of experience as trainer, administrator
in universities, International organizations, National
Non-Government Organizations and United Nations' Bodies,
particularly on issues concerning young people. She has
worked with World Health Organization in Geneva and International
Labour Organization in South East Asia. This gave her
an opportunity to develop plans and practices in developing
countries around the world, including India on issues
of education, health, prevention of child labour, the
disabled and destitute children. Developed leadership
on these issues in India, Asia, Africa and Middle East.

Chairperson of a four-country study on "children"
with colleagues from China, Thailand, Australia and India.
Mrs. Nayar is co-convener with Prof. Wyller from Norway,
John Hul from U.K. and Prof. Robin Melton from U.S.A.
in International conference in Oslo on "Religion
and Spirituality of Children in Emerging and Transforming
Societies".
